it's tuesday, not sunday, as my brain suspected. the roses are blooming bashfully in the window next to an unopened tarot deck and stamped letters which have not been, and will not be, sent. there is a child climbing the staircase. they always try to peer through the glass veiled in sun-bleached tie-dye tapestry of muted rainbow translucency. whispering outside my wooden door, planning their escape if the locks and golden knobs start twisting, suddenly.

That post was all fact, I can attest to that.

1. i knew it was not sunday, just wished it were.
2. my roses are not bashful, they're blooming rather lavishly.
3. there is no tarot deck on my window seal. all of my decks are on a desk on the opposites of the room.
4. there are no letters.
5. the children were playing downstairs--though they have before, and often do, peer through my window and attempt to knock on my door and run. but none of that this time.

I struggled to believe that you had an unopened deck of cards, but everything else sounded plausible. it takes talent to fool one's own mother, which invariably means you are destined to become a writer of fiction.
perhaps you should consider starting off by writing those imaginary letters. which reminds me - read Elizabeth Bishop's "Imaginary Iceberg" if you find spare time today. or whenever.
