a flag.
how white,
it once
was. waving
wildly (though
now unmoving)
--worn and
wrought with
weather’s weight.

wrought with
wait, alone.

This is the best thing you've ever written. Truths are best spoken in simplicity. Keep it light, don't weigh it down. Is far more difficult a thing to speak clearly than it is to smother with metaphor. Everyone can share this moment.

goodness, thanks so much. i don’t know if i’d go so far as to say it’s the best thing i’ve ever written, but i certainly do agree with you in regards to simplicity. it’s just hard for me because i love metaphors as paula deen loves butter. (it’s bad)
